Welcome to the first post in our exciting series of guest blogs!

We’ve invited some of our favourite Step Over Hunger participants to answer a few questions for our blog, sharing some top tips and spreading motivation to hit our step goals.

Kicking things off, we’ve got content creators Ash and her husband Pai. We’re delighted to welcome them into our Charity Right family and can’t wait to hear what they have to say.

So, over to you, Ayesha and Pai!

1. Please introduce yourselves!

Hey everyone! It’s Ash and Pai! We’re part time content creators and have been married for almost 6 years. We also have 2 amazing children who inspire us to be the best we can.

2. Do both of you like exercising? If yes, what’s your favourite way to work out?

Not both of us – Pai loves to work out. He’s very passionate about health and fitness. His favourite way to work out would be heavy lifting at the gym and cardio.

3. Have you ever tried exercising as a couple or is it individually?

We have tried exercising as a couple and it went great, but we don’t get the chance to do it much anymore as one of us always has to be with the kids. We do hope we can experience exercising as a couple in the future as our kids get older.

4. Have you ever done any other fundraising in the past or is the first time?

We’ve fundraised once before.

5. If it’s your first time, how’s your experience going so far?

We believe it’s a beautiful thing; it brings so many people together to do something great.

6. What made you want to take part in Step Over Hunger, and why Charity Right?

As parents, Step Over Hunger touched our hearts because we have kids of our own and know how important school meals are.

Pai has also experienced poverty before, so he can really relate to this and knows how important these charities are. We also wanted to set a fitness goal for ourselves to begin the year with, so we thought why not do the both in one go.

We chose Charity Right as they all seem like such genuine people. We also had a look at some of the amazing projects they have already done in order to help people around the world.

7. Are you getting your kids involved in the challenge? If so, it’d be awesome to hear how?

At the moment, we aren’t but they do know about it and think it’s a great idea.

8. What’s your favourite outdoor activity – be it as a family or individually?

As a family we love doing nature walks or even glamping, which is something we recently tried out and fell in love with. Individually, Pai likes to bodyboard and I love nature walks.

9. What’s the best thing to wear when you walk? Let’s get that lifestyle and fashion expertise out!

Anything comfortable really. Pai likes to wear shorts or joggers and a tank top or t shirt depending on how hot he gets. I like to wear some comfortable joggers with an oversized t-shirt most of the time.

10. How do you manage to get those steps in on the days it’s gloomy and raining outside?

We go to an indoor gym or even do some extra steps on the stairs.

11. What top tips do you have for others working towards their step goal?

Remember what your aim is and what you’re doing this for. Take regular breaks and stay hydrated. Remember that every step you take will also be counted as an act of charity.

12. What do you hope to get out of Step Over Hunger?

We hope to be able to make a difference to some children’s lives with the help of others of course. It also helps us get into a regular fitness routine.
